Prepare Yourself or Your Petcare Team for an Emergency
 

The Pet First Aid Course, is designed to teach individuals how to
administer immediate help to their dog or cat in the event of an
emergency. The purpose is to teach basic first aid techniques due to common illness, injury, or life-threatening condition.

The course is 4 hours in length and following the completion of this course the participants should be able to:

1. Explain how and when to call for emergency assistance for a pet.

2. Understand how to determine what is normal for their pet.

3. Identify signals of breathing emergencies, including choking, cardiac     emergencies, severe bleeding and demonstrate how to provide care.

4. Identify the signals of sudden illness, including poisoning, seizures, heat and     cold related emergencies and care for them.

5. Describe how to move an injured pet.

Next class: June 7th at the Plano Animal Shelter from 12PM to 4PM

Following the completion of this course what will I receive?
Following the completion of this course you will be certified in “Pet First Aid Dogs and Cats” through the American Red Cross and receive copies of the Dog and Cat First Aid Booklets with complementary DVD.
